Since the re-launch of their site on Earth Day 2017, TRAFFIC has been proud to partner with Boxed Water to help them reach their goal of offering consumers an environmentally friendly alternative to water sold in plastic bottles. In our time working together, TRAFFIC’s web design and development services have helped them reach customers more effectively. When we learned that Boxed Water would be reaching some very notable goals in 2020, we were very happy to help them add new content to their site related to those achievements.
Reaching Major Milestones
As a company built around the concept of sustainability, Boxed Water has continually been looking for ways to improve their packaging to further reduce the environmental impact of their product. With the addition of a plant-based cap, they were recently able to announce that their product packaging is now made of 92% plant-based materials. This marks a milestone for Boxed Water by making them the company with the highest rate of plant-based packaging in the packaged water vertical. For consumers seeking a more responsible alternative to plastic bottles and aluminum cans, Boxed Water is a true leader in the industry.
In addition to their sustainable packaging, Boxed Water recently reached another milestone of planting one million trees through their partnership with the National Forest Foundation (NFF). Over the past five years, Boxed Water engaged their customer base through a social media campaign to help them reach their goal of planting a million trees by 2020. As followers made Instagram posts featuring their product using the hashtag #BetterPlanet and tagging @boxedwater, Boxed Water planted two trees per post in national forests throughout the country selected based on factors like the risk of wildfires and other natural threats.
Having reached their initial goal, Boxed Water is now working toward the goal of planting one million more trees by asking followers to make posts featuring their favorite houseplant and what they would name it, including the #BetterPlanet and @boxedwater tags.
Support From TRAFFIC
As Boxed Water reached these milestones, TRAFFIC’s design and web development teams supported them by creating web pages as part of their lifestyle campaign messaging.
With the announcement of Boxed Water’s 92% plant-based packaging, TRAFFIC designed and built a series of pages focusing on the sustainability of their product packaging. This included a series of pages highlighting the lifecycle and environmental impact of their product compared to plastic and aluminum, making it easy for customers to understand why their product is a more sustainable alternative. Another page was added about the One Million Trees campaign, including information about the project’s inception, how the campaign will continue, and how customers can participate.
A Natural Partnership
As companies that value innovative, forward-thinking ideas, the partnership between TRAFFIC and Boxed Water is a natural fit. We’re excited to provide the services and digital work Boxed Water needs to raise awareness and make a difference for the planet.
